BEA's SuperScan is a door mounted, active infrared safety sensor designed for use on swinging and low energy doors. It uses triangulation to detect the presence of a pedestrian, while the door is opening and closing. It is capable of meeting ANSI 156.10 standard for swing door safety when used with the BEA Bodyguard.
